2017 was a year full of a lot of milestones and firsts for me. I graduated college with my bachelor’s, I bought a house with my fiancé, moved out of my parents house, switched modeling agencies in Miami, got represented in Los Angeles, traveled ALOT, worked for some dream clients, and planned our wedding. I grew a lot in 2017 as an individual and also as a partner.
Now that it’s 2018, I’ve been focused on all things wedding since it’s four months away and I can’t really procrastinate on things anymore. I usually start the year with my list of resolutions ready, but this year it’s taken me a little longer to figure it out. Here’s what I came up with:
In 2018 I want to:
Become more productive during the day: I’m a night owl. For some reason, it is really difficult for me to find motivation during normal hours to get things done. Give me until about 11 – midnight and I have all the motivation in the world and my brain and ideas don’t shut off. I’d like to be productive when the rest of the world is and get on a normal sleeping schedule.
Have a no cell phone rule in the bedroom: I’m all about de-stressing and scrolling through Instagram before I go to sleep, but I’ve noticed it’s like going down a rabbit hole. A 10 minute scroll turns into an hour of laying in bed looking at everyone else’s life instead of being present in my own. This year, I want to try to be checked out and off my phone by the time its time to go to bed.
Cook more: This is something I actually started doing the last couple of months of 2017. I blame it on moving in with Devin because I never used to cook. I LOVE to eat out, I would do it everyday, all day, 3x a day in a perfect world. Unless I was traveling for work and I had to figure it out, I never really had to cook. Once Devin and I moved in together, I felt the need to cook. It’s like a nesting thing that takes over and it just happens. All of a sudden I have recipe books, I’m looking forward to cooking dinner, and I find joy in him enjoying what I cooked. So this year, I want to cook more and learn more recipes.
Continue learning: I never hated school. I’ve always loved to learn, but I hated school when it interfered with me working. I took time off of school once to travel for work and I missed learning. I’ve learned so much in 2017 already about how to run a blog, affiliate programs, etc. on my own, but there is still so much to learn. I want to continue to teach myself new things and stay relevant on topics that matter to me.
Read more: I want to step into the world of self-help/ motivational books. I’ve heard nothing but good things, but I have never read one so that’s something I want to do this year. I’m always looking to be inspired and motivated, that’s part of why I love social media so much because it’s full of inspiration and motivation, but I want to find it in a book this year. Some books on my radar are: You are a badass, Choosing me before we, and Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. If you have any recommendations, leave me a comment below so I can check them out!
I love a fresh start, a brand new journal with 12 months to make things happen and new resolutions to work towards.
What are some of your resolutions for 2018? Lets start a conversation in the comments.

I’m going to enjoy every step we take this year.❤️
2017 was definitely a year to remember but 2018 is going to be even better! I like your resolution to read more as I made that same commitment. You should try “Declutter your mind” by S.J Scott.
