I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t change something in our home. Once I start looking around, Devin braces himself for what’s to come haha. My latest creative project was our entry way. I sold our old entry way table and bought this one because I LOVE the shape / texture / color. Don’t be scared to mix wood tones in your home – it adds interest and avoids your furniture from falling flat. I incorporated colors and textures that you can find in our dining room and family room to make it feel cohesive.
My favorite part of taking on a new project besides the online shopping of course, is the decorating. The beauty and personality is in the details – for this table I wanted to layer items with it also remaining functional for us. We like to have a drop bowl where we can put our keys when we get home. I love this trinket dish because of its large size, textured handle and the organic look it adds to the table. The fact that it’s lidded also hides them. You can’t go wrong with a lamp in an entry – this is something I never did with my previous versions of this entry, but it was necessary and so beautiful. The lamp adds height to bring your eyes up and at night gives a beautiful ambiance. I added a personal touch of some of our polaroids I’ve collected over the years and stacked some of my favorite coffee table books.
This little corner of our home is the first thing you see when you enter our house and it sets the tone for the rest of the space.

Next project is our family room! We need some details like a rug, small table, lamp and pillows. I’m looking forward to showing you the updated space when i’m done!
