Between a pandemic and a civil rights movement fighting against systemic racism towards Black Americans, 2020 has been a year of growth, listening and learning. The year we slowed down, but got loud. In lieu of empowering Black people and amplifying their voices and businesses, I wanted to put together a list of Black-owned business that you can support now. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses have taken a hit financially and can use support now more than ever. If you can’t support monetarily, you can show your support on social media – following new brands, engaging with them by commenting on their posts, and reposting them so that your community can discover an awesome new brand too. Below you will find a list of Black-owned businesses both in fashion and beauty you can support and bookmark for later.
“this is the year we slowed down, but got loud. this is the year we stayed home, but got out. this is the year we stopped rushing, but started chanting. this is the year we learned home is enough, but enough is enough. this is the year we covered our faces, but used our voices. this is the year we said “I am with you” and we will do better. in all things, from all places, for each other and for our children.” – Lauren Gores
