Our Little Girl’s Nursery Reveal

With only three weeks left to our mini’s due date + a mostly finished nursery later, the excitement is building for our little girl’s arrival. Her nursery has become my favorite room in our home + was made with so much love. I find myself in here multiple times a day just taking it all in ( + appreciating all my hard work, honestly haha).

One of the first things I purchased for her nursery was this vintage inspired baby blue cabinet I scored at Home Goods. I didn’t have a plan for her room yet other than I wanted it to be a mix of vintage + modern pieces that told a story. I didn’t necessarily want a nursery that screamed baby, but one that we could both enjoy + that was still calm + sweet.

Her nursery used to be our guest room that I recently finished right before I found out I was pregnant – you can see that post here. I recruited Devin to paint + decided to go with a less feminine pink + a more deep pink she could grow with for the walls, baseboards + even the doors in the room. The color I went with is called ‘Setting Plaster’ by Farrow + Ball, but I got it mixed at Sherwin Williams for a fraction of the price.

I love everything in her room, but her crib and her dresser are my favorite pieces. The dresser is a piece that can grow with her + the crib is non-traditional + makes a statement. I decided to do a gallery wall behind her crib of personal pictures in black + white for a nostalgic feel. I mixed maternity photos, photos with our mothers, etc. By adding these personal photos in her room, I incorporated our story + the beginning of hers. The gallery wall frames are from West Elm + her dresser is from Pottery Barn. I also had an artist I love, Claudia Miranda, commission a piece for our mini, a painting of us three in line art for a pop of color.

How I’m Staying Organized

When it came to organizing her space, I wanted to make the most out of the space we had. That meant a big enough dresser to store clothes, bed sheets, swaddles, etc. My main goal in life now is to not have baby things all over our house. I want to keep everything to a minimum + organized as much as I can. If we think better in an uncluttered space, I believe babies do too.

I got this storage basket for on top of her dresser at The Container Store + put everything in it I’d need to grab quickly – diapers, gripe water, baby wipes, her wubbanub, diaper cream, etc. When it came to organizing her clothes, I organized them by months (0-3, 3-6, 6-9, etc.) + by purpose (onesies, PJ’s, jumpers, full outfits, etc.) I’ll rotate up as she grows out of clothes. These drawer dividers from The Container Store work great. When it came to her baby books, I wanted them to be in reach for her to crawl over + pick up a book to read + also wanted it to blend in. I found these inexpensive acrylic shelves + they got the job done. Adding shelves is a great way to decrease clutter on the floor.

Let the final count down begin for baby girl’s arrival. I hope you found some inspiration from this post whether it was for decor, organization, or just the extra push you needed to get started on your babe’s nursery.
