My Fresh Faced Spring Makeup Routine

Hat is Something Navy

I love Spring because it’s the season of new life. It’s a time to declutter your life with some spring cleaning, you transition out of winter into warmer weather, and it’s a time to add some new items to your wardrobe and beauty rotation.

This Spring I’m all about cream makeup products. While I love a full makeup look, sometimes powders can dry you out making you look like you’re wearing a lot of makeup, especially under the eyes. When using cream products you can layer them easily over foundation or you can directly use them on your skin – skipping the foundation. For a more natural look, I’ve been skipping the powders and the foundation base and I’m loving how fresh my skin looks and how well it settles on my skin. For reference, I have dry to normal skin. If you are relatively oily, you might need to take a little bit of translucent powder to your T-zone.

Cream Products + How I Use Them

Concealer: I still use my tried and true corrector by Benefit Cosmetics called Boing, to color correct my dark circles and I alternate between my KKW Beauty concealer in shade #8 and my Tarte Shape Tape concealer in medium. I blend my under eyes out with a damp beauty blender and sheer it out. I find these two concealers to have the best coverage. I did just order a concealer from Kylie Cosmetics because I love trying new products for you guys so I’ll keep you posted 😉

Bronzer: Since I skip the foundation as a base for this makeup look, I go in with my favorite cream bronzer – Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzing base. I’ve had this product easily for over a year and I just now hit pan on it. A little goes a long way. It is so creamy and blends easily. I place it on the outer perimeter of my face – my cheek bones, jaw line and forehead. This helps warm up my face and blends into my concealer. I apply it using this face base brush by Real Techniques.

Blush: One of my favorite products is cream blush. Blush is what brings your skin to life and helps make you look fresh and healthy. I’ve been using this drug store cream blush by L’Oreal in the shade “cheeky dimension” and I LOVE it. It’s a great color I can wear everyday and it’s inexpensive which makes it even better. I place it over the cream bronzer on my cheeks, swipe it over my nose, and even use it on my eye lids as an eyeshadow to make the look monochromatic. I use this M427 brush by Morphe which is a duo-fibered brush and helps distribute the blush evenly.

For a seamless look, I use my damp beauty blender over everywhere I placed product to marry all the products together. An added bonus of using only cream products is your skin’s natural glow from the oil on your skin works double as a highlight, so I skip a cream highlight. This is an easy way to do my Spring makeup in under 10 minutes and I’m using half the amount of products. It’s been my everyday go-to!

Side note: How cute is this makeup bag by Beis Travel created by Shay Mitchell ?! I love that it’s clear and it comes with a compact mirror.
