Postpartum Must-Haves To Get You Through The Fourth Trimester

With a little over a month of motherhood under my belt, I thought I’d share some things that are getting me through the fourth trimester: postpartum. I had a vaginal delivery and my recovery wasn’t so bad, but these 8 products below definitely helped soothe the recovery and made it as comfortable as possible.

+ Frida mom postpartum recovery kit – my hospital actually supplied me with the ice packs, pads, etc. but this kit was great to have at home. The perineal foam is great and I loved the disposable underwear.

+ Motherlove herb organic nipple cream – This has been my favorite nipple cream so far – it’s organic and safe for baby. I used this a lot in the beginning.

+ Silverette nursing cups – I love these. The silver has healing properties – I just place them in my nursing bras under my breast pad and can sleep with them on. They’re flexible and reusable which is great. Tip: don’t put them on over any nipple cream – just place them on with a few drops of breast milk.

+ Nursing pads – I use the Lansinoh stay dry nursing pads – they’re a necessity if you’re breastfeeding.

+ Tucks + Dermoplast – This combo is a game changer. The tucks are medicated cooling pads that provide relief and the dermoplast is great for numbing.

+ Belly bandit belly band (the original) – I started using my belly band around two weeks postpartum to just hold me in during the day. After giving birth you’ll notice your belly is super jiggly because of water weight and your organs are still out of place so this is nice for a little assistance to get things back where they belong. It also helps with my posture.

+ Nursing bras– I honestly hate nursing bras because I feel like they just get in the way, but the ones I have been using regularly are these to sleep in and this one throughout the day.

I know when I was pregnant, I scoured the internet to find out what I would need / what really works and what doesn’t etc. so I hope this post is helpful to my mamas who are expecting or just gave birth and are in the thick of it all. Recovery is a process, but these products really did help me feel as comfortable as possible. I hope they will do the same for you!

xx Raquel
