8 weeks into all things baby – I feel like I can confidently say that these baby items are essentials. There are a lot of baby items on the market and it can definitely be overwhelming to navigate through what actually works and what’s worth purchasing. Everything on this list is Harper approved and has made life easier one way or another.
Organic Burts Bees Burp Cloths – These are great because they’re organic and super soft.
Como Tomo bottles – I noticed that Harper doesn’t stop mid bottle to cough or spit up when we use these bottles. The nipples on these are also great.
Bibs pacifiers – Aesthetically pleasing and light enough to stay in Harper’s mouth. She favors these over others we have tried.
Ubbi diaper pail – Traps the smell of dirty diapers.
Wabi 3-in-1 steam sanitizer and dryer – I love this because it gives me peace of mind that her bottles are disinfected and clean. I wash her bottle and my breast pump parts and place them in this steamer after every use and it sanitizing and dries them.
Bath kneeler with elbow rest– Life saver during bath time for comfort.
Boon 3 stage bath tub– I like this tub becomes it’ll grow with Harper. It can be used for all 3 stages.
Mustela products– We LOVE the smell of Mustela products. We use everything – shampoo, soap, gentle rinse water, lotion, diaper cream and love it. Mustela products are plant-based and delicate enough for newborn baby skin.
Halo bassinet – This bassinet is great because it rotates 360 so I can keep Harper close to me at night. It vibrates, plays sounds and has a light. When it came to choosing a bassinet, it was important to find one that was breathable with mesh sides for when she wiggles around at night.
Love To Dream Swaddle – Harper was a little swaddle escape artist. She would always get an arm or both out, but then her startle reflex would kick in and she would wake herself up with her hands out. It was an endless cycle at night. All that changed when we got the Love To Dream swaddle. It zips all the way up which prevents her from getting out of it and keep her arms up which is how she prefers to sleep anyway. It was an adjustment when we first put her in it, so we started with naps before we put her in it for long stretches at night. Now, she loves it and sleeps 8+ hour stretches at night.
Lovevery Play Gym – If you buy anything, buy this play gym. Harper LOVES her playgym. It’s great for stimulation during her awake times and helps her learn. As she grows, we can switch out the learning toys to help with her development. We’re all about toys that have a purpose.
Nuna Triv Stroller // Pipa lite infant car seat – After comparing every stroller, we landed on the Nuna Triv and we’re really happy with it. It’s light, easy to close and open and the fact that it’s nice to look at is a bonus. It was important to find a stroller that would be easy for me to use and put in and out of the car when I’m by myself. This is it.
Coterie Diapers – The best diapers we have used. I have tried multiple brands and always go back or refer to these. They are 100% organic, super absorbent and SOFT!!!
Nail File Electric trimmer– Cutting or filing newborn nails always sounded like a daunting task to me because babies are so squirmy. This electric nail trimmer is amazing. You can switch out the blades, it’s easy to use and won’t ever cut the babe.
Boppy– Harper loves her boppy. We use it to have her lounge with us in bed while she’s awake and also plop her on it when she’s in her play gym so she’s not laying flat after eating. It also gives her a break from laying flat all day napping.
Mebie baby knot gowns – These are the best for easy diaper changes and quick, cute outfits. They come with the mittens to cover her hands and just tie at the bottom. We have them in every color.
Keekaroo changer – LOVE the keekaroo changer. I don’t know how people keep up with the laundry on fabric changing tables. This is super convenient because we can just wipe it with a baby wipe to clean up any messes and it’s super comfortable for babe.
Fridababy 3-in-1 Humidifier with diffuser + nightlight – We got this when we noticed Harper sounded congested which is normal for newborns. I’m all about products that can do more than one thing.
Hatch Rest sound machine – This gets used everyday and clues Harper that it’s bed time. You can control it through an app on your phone which is convenient.
Fridababy nasal aspirator – Great for getting the boogies out.
Barefoot dreams baby blanket – The SOFTEST blanket ever.
Magnetic Me footie – These are great for those diaper changes in the middle of the night or early AM when you don’t want to deal with a million buttons.
Let me know in the comments below what your newborn essentials are if they aren’t on this list.
