How To Stay Productive At Home

Since our new reality has shifted to staying home, I wanted to talk about different ways you can still be productive while at home to make the most out of your time. I’m a big believer in the power of mindset + shifting your perspective to use this time at home to be productive or to do nothing + just relax for your peace of mind + mental health. Protect your health + protect your peace.

At Home Workout

Something that has helped me stay sane + feel like myself is working out. Moving my body for at least 30 minutes a day has helped me to feel productive + feel good. I’ve been walking at least 2 miles a day or doing at home workouts that are available all over social media. There are so many great workouts online right now and apps that are offering free month trials due to the circumstances. Some of my favorites to follow are Melissa Wood Health, Tone It Up, and The Sculpt Society. One Peleton is also offering some free online classes that don’t require a bike.

Tone it up is offering a free month on their app and Peleton is offering a free 90 day trial – no bike needed.

Take On Home Projects

With spending so much time at home, confined within our four walls – you notice the shortcomings within your home. Whether you don’t have a designated play area for your children now that they’re home all day, you have cluttered corners, shelves, or pantries, or you think you need an overall refresh, start to plan for future projects. You can take on DIY projects also like hanging up a gallery wall, putting pictures in your empty picture frames, etc.

Take this time to simplify your home, make your space more functional + a home where you can relax, decompress + declutter your mind. You’d be surprised how much of an affect your environment has on your mental health. Make a list of projects you want to tackle so you don’t feel overwhelmed + tackle them one-by-one checking them each off as you go. Some areas where you can start are:

  • linen closets
  • organize your pantry
  • book shelves
  • drawers
  • paperwork
  • purge your clothes
  • eliminate old / mismatched tupperware
  • throw out old makeup
  • clean your makeup brushes

Skin Care

Now’s the time for that 20 step skin care routine, am I right? Click the restart button + detox your skin + be makeup free for a couple of days. I’m indulging in all the masks, serums + at home facials I can.

Some of my skincare favorites:

Learn Something New

  • Get lost in a book // use audible or order off amazon
  • Take an online learning course on Skillshare, a Pinterest course, etc.
  • Learn some Tiktok dances to stay creative
  • Try out new recipes from cookbooks you haven’t had the time to go through
  • Build a website for your business
  • Learn new ways to market your business or build your brand via social media
  • Bake, bake, bake

Binge

There’s no better time to binge Netflix / Hulu than now. Instead of binging during the day, Dev + I have been binging at night before bed. Some shows we’ve watched + that are on our list are:

  • Little Fires Everywhere
  • Fixer Upper: Behind The Design
  • Good Girls
  • Greenleaf
  • Tiger King
  • Money Heist
  • Grace + Frankie
