My Bridal Shower

My bridal shower was a day to remember and went by so quickly!!! If this was any indication of how fast our wedding day will go, it really is true that it goes by so fast and I want to make sure I soak in EVERYTHING! I was so nervous before I walked into my bridal shower because I knew I was walking into a room of people waiting for me, I was worried that not everyone would show up, and I knew I was the host so the pressure was just TOO MUCH for the introvert in me to handle lol. It was so overwhelming to be surrounded by the women in my life who took the time to celebrate this milestone with me. My maid of honor flew in from L.A. and did an AMAZING job decorating the venue along with my momma.

Everything down to the details, the menu, the table place cards, the favors for everyone to take home, the centerpieces that were the colors of my wedding scheme,  the “Mrs.” chair, was just all so pretty and everything I wanted. I was adamant about wanting balloons ( I’ve spent too much time on Pinterest), so I was so happy to see “BRIDE” floating above the cake table. The cake was perfect -it was tiffany blue with a white wedding dress on it and so yummy. I could also eat Italian food every day for the rest of my life, so the location was more than fitting.

My maid of honor took charge of everything and succeeded in making sure everything ran smoothly ( I don’t really know how I get through the day without her), from the bridal shower games, to opening gifts, and to making my hat made out of bows from my gifts. She had cute bridal shower games ready to play like, “he said, she said” and “advice for the bride.” It was so much fun to see who knew us best and to read everyone’s advice for me.

What I didn’t know was that I would be receiving a partial letter of Devin’s version of our love story to read on the day of. While I was attempting to read it privately, I looked up and everyone in the room was waiting for me to read it out loud LOL (sorry babe). It was the sweetest surprise and the cherry on top of such a great brunch. Devin showed up towards the end of the shower and got to spend some time with everyone and join in on the fun. It really was one of the best days ever and i’m so sad it’s all almost over. Nothing made me really feel like I was getting married until I walked into my own bridal shower. Ever since I was little, I always imagined what I would be doing in my twenties and it’s so surreal and exciting to be writing this chapter of my life at this time in my life. The best is still yet to come 🙂
