The biggest sale of the year is HERE!!! Nordstrom is my favorite department store housing all my favorite brands from Topshop to Halogen to Madewell and more. The Nordstrom anniversary sale is full of brand new summer and fall arrivals at great prices. This is the time to build your summer wardrobe and get all the pieces you’ll need for the fall on sale. I fully plan on taking advantage of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year and have built a strategy on how I am going to attack the sale.
Early Access vs. Public Access
Items fly off the web and off the racks during this sale because there is early access and public access of the sale. Early access begins Thursday, July 12th – July 19th, but is only for Nordstrom card members. You can sign up for a Nordstrom card here with benefits like:
- VIP event access
- Personal Triple Point Days
- Earn 2 points per dollar spent in stores and online
- No annual fee
Public Access begins July 20th- August 5th. There have been years where items sell out completely during early access and you miss out waiting until public access to shop the sale, and there have been times where items are fully restocked by the time it’s time for public access. The best thing to do during the sale if you aren’t going to get a Nordstrom card and access the sale early, is to order everything you want and return whatever you don’t want afterwards. Items will fly out of your cart.
What I Will Be Stocking Up On
Basics
If there’s anything you can’t have too many of, it’s basics. Simple tees like this V-neck from Halogen or denim you can wear during any season from brands like BLANK NYC, AG Jeans, rag & bone denim and a bunch of FRAME denim, are staples.
I love to wear sweaters and jackets. With fall coming up this is the perfect time to stock up on some “it” fall sweaters. There will be a color blocking sweater by BP. that I think will sell out quickly and a cashmere sweater by Halogen if you love cashmere. Pastels and nudes are really in this season so I have my eye on a lavender coat for the winter also by Halogen. When it comes to accessories, there is a chic black belt back that will be on sale and also some gold dainty jewelry by Kate Spade and Treasure & Bond that will be super cute to layer. I want to start wearing hats this summer and fall so I have my eye on this Treasure & Bond felt hat in Camel.
Shoes
Mules and flats are definitely going to be my go-to shoes this summer/fall. They are so comfortable and can be dressed up or down. Above are three styles in three colors that I love that will be on sale. The blush open toe mule will be on sale for $50 by BP. and I can’t wait to get them in my closet and a part of my wardrobe. A block heel makes such a difference when it comes to comfort.
The black sling-back flat is by Halogen and I think will be my first of many pairs of sling-back flats. I don’t think this trend is going anywhere anytime soon, so I’m going to jump on board. White shoes are PERFECT for summer and these Steve Madden Trace Studded Mules are great because they add length to your leg, have the flattering point toe and a little heel to add some height for everyday.
