All About Our Gender Reveal

all photography is by @ericabrookephotography

If you couldn’t already guess from the pink confetti – we’re having a GIRL!!! We were definitely a house divided: I manifested girl from the beginning + Dev said boy, go figure. I still never had a gut feeling either way, but had convinced myself into thinking it was definitely a girl. Nonetheless, I was still so surprised + ecstatic when we were covered in PINK. Devin is definitely going to get a run for his money – we are officially a house full of women (including Dixie + Mia).

We were so happy to be surrounded by family and friends that love us + our mini! Our gender reveal was everything I wanted it to be. My vision for the gender reveal was simple: I wanted it to be intimate, outside with boho flowers + a dessert table that would function as a photo op.

The reveal was held at my moms house because I wanted to utilize her backyard space. We do live in S.FL where it gets hot, so we opted to only do two tables outside because we figured people would be roaming in + out throughout the party. We added flowers to the tables over white linen for a clean look.

The decor was really limited to the balloon garland, the signs + flowers. We went with a balloon garland I found on Etsy (it was a mission to put together, but loved the way it turned out). I didn’t want pastel colors so I went with navy + pink balloons. I was able to find a matching welcome sign + a gender prediction sign on Etsy + had them printed out at Office Depot + placed them on easels we found at Michaels. Etsy allowed me to customize the signs which was great because they added a personal touch to the event.

We had different baby related games displayed for our guests to grab + fill out while they ate lunch. I figured it was something to do that could occupy everyone’s time (fun fact: I HATE hosting ANYTHING because the introvert in me just can’t take the pressure of having to entertain guests). Instead of reading all of the games out loud, we only read two that were mainly about Dev + I. It was a fun, interactive way to see how much our guests knew us before we revealed the gender of our mini.

When it came to the food, I was honestly more concerned about the desserts because I have a major sweet tooth. I had Earth + Sugar design our desserts ranging from key lime tarts to cake donuts + cupcakes. My mom had a small table upstairs that we brought out + placed all the desserts on that ended up being perfect. We opened the drawers + added some leftover flowers that really elevated the table.

For the reveal, I opted to do confetti poppers because I thought it would be a fun way to involve all of our guests. I loved the idea of everyone being in on the surprise instead of just watching Dev + I be the center of attention. Everyone loved the confetti poppers + it came out so beautiful in all of the photos + video – I definitely recommend them! You can shop the poppers we used here.

We are extremely thankful to everyone who helped make this day so special + everyone who took time out of their day to be there!! Now that I know it’s a girl, I have a nursery to decorate! Let the fun begin 😉
