Pregnancy Safe Skincare

Can I use salicylic acid? Pimple cream? My favorite mask? Once I found out I was pregnant I started to research everything about pregnancy safe skincare because I wanted to sort out my skincare routine. Before I knew it, I was googling ingredients I could hardly pronounce and triple checking if it was safe. I knew that some products weren’t great to use while pregnant, but I didn’t know how many ingredients I had to avoid that were actually in a lot of the skincare I was using pre-pregnancy.

After stashing away some of my favorite masks and cleansers, I made the decision to transition to clean skincare as much as I could. Luckily, there are a ton of great clean skincare and beauty brands on the market such as, Ilia, Tatcha, and Drunk Elephant to name a few.

Clean Skincare Products I’m Using Throughout My Pregnancy

+ Honest Beauty Vitamin C – Thanks to my hormones, I’ve had some breakouts that have resulted in dark spots. I started using this Vitamin C serum and my dark spots have gone down significantly. My skin looks so much better.

+ Drunk Elephant B- Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum – Whenever I feel like my skin is extra dry, I’ll add this serum before my moisturizer. It’s super light weight and adds an instant glow to my skin.

+ Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer – I like this moisturizer because it is thick, but also contains proteins that help with firmness, skin tone + texture.

+ Tatcha Deep Cleanse Face Wash + Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser– I love the Tatcha Deep Cleanse because it’s a gentle enough exfoliator to use everyday without leaving my skin dry – I use it as my PM cleanser. If I feel like I need to wash my face in the morning, I’ll use my YTP Superfood Cleanser.

+ Native Deodorant – If you’ve tried clean deodorant, you know it’s no easy feat to find one that works for you. It is a trial and error process. The wrong one can leave you smelling ripe and what works for me won’t necessarily work for you. Our underarms are so close to our breasts that I wanted to make sure I wasn’t putting anything with harsh chemicals on. I’ve tried multiple natural deodorants and never had any luck until Native. I bought it at Target and I’ve been using it ever since.

+ Farmacy Dew It All Eye Cream – I’m not 100% committed to any eye cream, I like to switch it up. This one has Chamomile + Oils to help with hydration and was recommended to me at Sephora.

+ Biossance 100% Squalane Oil – I LOVEEE facial oils. I love to lather them on my face before bed whenever I’m feeling dry or my skin is looking a little dull. I love this Squalane oil for instant dewiness and moisture.

+ Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask– I’m all about a night mask. I don’t like the way this one smells too much, but it has hyaluronic acid in it and my skin always feels soft and plump the next day. I’ll put this on before bed and sleep with it.
