2018 Recap + My 2019 Resolutions

Every year I like to do a yearly recap along with some resolutions for the new year. It keeps me on track, hopeful for the upcoming year, and I get to look back and see if I accomplished everything I wanted to.

Last year, I was focused on planning our wedding and transitioning into that new chapter of my life in 2018. All the planning, meetings, decisions, and vendors, etc. was all worth it. My favorite moment of 2018 was getting married and everything that comes along with that – my bridal shower, bachelorette party, the wedding day and going to Italy on our honeymoon. They were moments of bliss that I’ll always cherish.

2018 was a year full of transitioning. Transitioning into being a wife, a dog mom of two, turning 25 and transitioning into the pressure that that in itself brings. Along with transitioning in my career and accomplishing goals I had set for myself, and just transitioning as a human being. There was a lot going on in 2018, so I’m planning on going into 2019 with my feet grounded and ready for a fresh start.

In 2019 I want to:

BECOME MORE PRODUCTIVE DURING THE DAY: This was definitely a resolution of mine last year that I failed to complete. I’m such a night owl that I honestly do not have the energy during the day to be productive. I’ve gotten better though, so that’s progress right?

STAY CONSISTENT WITH MY WORKOUTS: I go through phases where I’m working out 4x a week and then phases where a month has gone by and I haven’t worked out once. I’m not too hard on myself about it, but I think it’s good for me to have a routine and when I wake up and go in the morning it sets my routine for the day.

FINISH OUR HOME: We’ve started the process already so we are starting 2019 on the right foot. Home improvements are definitely a lot of work, but finishing what we want to do this year is definitely top on my list.

GROW MY BLOG: I’m grateful for everyone who takes time out of their day to check out my blog and the growth that I’ve had since I started it. I enjoy creating content and hopefully just creating a positive space on the internet you can turn to for inspiration. I want to continue to grow in 2019 and create more content for you guys.

TRAVEL MORE: I travel so much throughout the year for work, but I travel by myself. In 2019, I want to travel more with Devin. I want to plan some fun trips and plan a yearly wedding anniversary trip. Taking recommendations if you want to leave me any, comment below!

CREATE A ROUTINE: I’m a take the day as it comes and figure it out kinda girl. I don’t go to sleep and know what I’m doing the next day. With work, my days are never the same, consistent, and far from routine. The days that I am not traveling or working, I want to create a routine and give myself a purpose on my days off – whether that’s blogging, filming a YouTube video, or creating content. In 2019, I want to create a routine amidst a career that is far from routine. WISH ME LUCK.

NOT BE SO HARD ON MYSELF: In 2018, I turned 25 and it started to feel like everyday there was another mountain growing on my back. No one really talks about turning 25 other than you’re closer to 30. But, there definitely is a shift when you turn 25. I’d actually call it sheer panic LOL. It’s this unwelcoming pressure of feeling like time is escaping you and you have to start figuring out your life. In 2019, I want to relieve myself from the pressure and just continue to do the best I can everyday and be kind along the way.

I hope you enjoyed reading some of my resolutions for the new year and I hope I inspired you to write some of your own resolutions and goals, whether you plan 6 months out or 12 months out. You can use it as motivation to live your best life and to keep you on track along the way.

Happy New Year everyone, I’ll see you in 2019!!

xx Raquel
